Flashes of Style

Hello all, sorry about another filler that I am doing and promise that I'll get straight back to outfit posts after this, since I like them the most.
Well I have been hearing about this blog flashes of style for ages now and finally decided to check it and decided that it is one of my new favorite blogs along side the likes of style rookie and style bubble (note: should of called my blog something with 'style' in the title since it's worked out so well for them.)
Bonnie Barton is the author/ founder/ whatever you want to call it and she has the most gorgeous style ever I think.
It is very preppy and stylish and vintage all at the same time and like me we also share a love for big chunky wedges.
Her blog is a really easy read as well.
The only downside is that she doesn't have a blog archive, and if she doesn't I haven't found it yet, and I always love looking right at their very first posts and reading upwards ( I know weird right?)

Cecilia Cassini?

I recently discovered the amazingly annoying American tween that IS Cecilia Cassini, and i just wanted to know what you thought of her, love or hate?
I personally hate her and it's not just because that I might just be a little bit jealous of her, it's because she is just so damn annoying!
She's obviously talented and good at what she does but doesn't she just get on your nerves?
So please before you make your mind up about her take a look at this clip .   .    .   .

Well?  Isn't she just too cliche?
Isn't she just the younger version of the annoying American attention seeker/ show off in EVERY chick- flick film ?!
Isn't she the mean girl in the making Regina George (Rachel McAdams?)
Please comment and tell me your views on her xx

Little Girls

WOW! This must be the like fifth new years resolution that I have broken, sorry about that, oh well i won't bore you with my apologies, so lets carry on . . . Recently I realized something . . . I'm just a little kid. I know, it"s not that great of an epiphany but when i had it I was dancing in a fancy night club in a gorgeous yet ridiculous dress and high heeled wedges that doubled my size (before you panic I was at someones bah mitzvah.) Well any way I was sat there feeling oh so grown-up, and then someone passed out in the bath room, from too much drink, and suddenly I felt little, with my cup of juice in hand, stuffing down a million slices of tiny  heaven (a.k.a a mini cupcake.) So I feel like enhancing my epiphany of a little girl and have dug out my old tutu from my mile deep dressing up box and have paired it with some wacky yet totally cool clothes that wouldn't go if I wasn't wearing a tutu over the top. so here it is  .   .   .    .   .
the flower headband was homemade xx
the Paris is actually my little brothers but I have adopted it as my own
the one problem being that he doesn't know it yet :D It is from Paris
as well but I cannot tell you where in Paris as I was stuck at home
when my mum went! :( I found the cute Indian looking brooch on
the floor in the school corridor, finders keepers losers weepers!
I look silly and unintentionally pouty, if I'm quite honest!
Let me introduce you to my cute little models!
Yes in true little girl style I have actually dressed up my pets!

This is Johnny Jumble, or JJ for short, sporting some fashionable
cat ears from A LOT of Halloween's ago.
And this is Mr. Oll or Olly, do you like his party trick?
We see here that Mr. Oll has a pair of unusual fairy
wings from my dressing up box ( we weren't normal kids
and didn't have many fairy wings, these where the only ones        I could find) and this lovely tiara, that's half broke,
was from a panto that I went to see xx
The wand is from the same panto as the tiara and
                                                                           everything else is the same .   .    .    .     .    .
Me wearing the wings ( I would have worn them for all
the pics but they are made for like 5 year olds . . . MAX!
And because of this they really rub!)

These are the shoes I have been wearing the whole
time, you just couldn't see them well, they are from the
bottomless pit that is my dressing up box! But I
think that they where originally my aunties.

us three looking completely board in my new bow.

                                                                bow in close up
(okay I've run out of things to say so I'm just stating the obvious)

My First Cooking Post . . .

Today was my Uncles Birthday (happy birthday uncle chris xx! :) Well anyway we where going to make a birthday cake for him but in the end we decided on strudel instead.
It is an apple strudel and it's really easy to make, all you need is . . .
1. filo or puff pastry
2. two apples
3. raisins
4. chocolate
5. cinnamon
6. two crunchy biscuits
7. sugar (no particular type)
8. a baking tray
9. butter
10. a tea towel or bit of cloth bigger than your sheets of pastry put together . . .

1.  Role your pastry out on a board until its very thin and in the rough shape of a rectangle, then place it on   your tea towel ( if you have sheets of pastry lay them out onto the tea towel in a rectangle.)

2. melt a little bit of butter in a pan then spread it on your pastry (sorry I can't be more specific.)

3. sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the pastry.

4. grate the apple in a bowl and smash up the biscuits mix it in a bowl with the raisins using your hands then sprinkle over the pastry.

5. break the chocolate up into squares the line it up on one of the short sides of the rectangle.

6. role up the pastry starting from the end with the chocolate. An easy way to role is to pull the tea towel up slowly so the pastry rolls up.

7.  to bake put on the baking tray on the middle shelf and on a fan oven turn to 180 c for 30 to 40 minuets ( I can't tell you it in fahrenheit but I'm sure you can google it!)

Serve how you want . . .
The good thing about this recipe is that you can change what you want in the filling and make your own version of it. For a christmassy one just add about 400 g's of old christmas cake or pudding xxx

SO SORRY!

Hello all! Happy new year :)! I truly am the worst this time i feel so so bad, I can't believe that I haven't posted for over a month! So now I am following in Ugly Betty's footsteps and I'm going to post again. And now raising my hand to my heart i here by swear to post at least every 2 weeks, I think that it shall be quite easy, for the only thing that stopped me from posting last time was the holiday season. Speaking of which everybody can expect a big christmas gift post from me using my new camera :) !

Well enough with the boring stuff, I've got so much to post but I don't know how to post it so I'm just going to start with this magazine that I discovered. I got the 3rd issue that has ever come out and I LOVE IT! It is very arty farty (if you'll pardon my french) well lets just say that it is like I-D and the type of magazines that very open- minded, you know

the type, and sort of, well, hippyish. It's the kind of thing my sisters friends would be caught reading ( they are almost all veggies and very 'indie-pop' types and they go to tree hugging camps and are all sort of grungy and would rebel against their parents if they had the guts . . . typical 15 year old girls!) Of course my sister is all those things (except veggie) and don't get me wrong, I like them very much and I also like this magazine a lot as well. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that it isn't for just any old chav that is filled with naive optomism and dreams of becoming a fashion designer and think that if they follow the trends that everyone else has done before them that they'll have it all handed to them on a silver platter without even being able to sew. I know that sounds like only a few, but trust me , every other girl aged 10 or above in liverpool is like that. Enough with the rant and back onto the magazine . . . now that you know what genre of people it's aimed at, I can tell you what its called but I'm sure all the smart ones have worked out from the picture that it is in fact called PIGEONS & PEACOCKS. It says on the cover Fashion. Thought. Human. Interest. Story. I'm not so sure what that means but I'm almost certain that it is the meaning of the magazine or, if you will, the theme It has
lots of lovely spreads all vague and out of focus, vintage- looking, like having the models and the clothes over to one side and them not quite being the centre of attention, I LIKE IT! One of the down sides though is that it doesn't advertise where all the clothes are from, well actually I suppose that this can also be a good side, like they're not selling out to the corporate 'man' (anybody seen 'School of Rock'?) Another split side is that they don't have adverts. Now this is so cool that SOMEONE has FINALLY taken a stand against the media, but it is also a down side because the lovely pink card and nicely presented spreads are too pretty to cut up and use as magazine clippings. Its not as if iI can cut up the adverts is it? This trail of thoughts also reminds me to tell you that this magazine is not one of those glossy rags it doesn't have any celebrity gossip but more cultured things like a tour of london east-side (this sounds really boring but its not, its more like the culture and the things that inspired the dress code and what cultured individuals lived here when they where little, (notice how I used the word cultured maybe a bit too much in that sentence?) All in all it is obvious that I like this magazine and that it makes me feel just a little bit too grown up that I own a cultured magazine (again with the cultured.) And to conclude I would like to say that I think you should buy this  magazine and I also think that YOU WILL LIKE IT!
all pictures where from my issue of pigeons & peacocks

This outfit is what i wore last Sunday, I did nothing special but I was very proud of this outfit because I have finally incorporated high heeled shoes into normal everyday outfits! This is just a small step for me but a big leap for my style! I <3 SHOES yay xx. You see, I am only twelve and I'm probably quite young to be wearing high heeled shoes just normally, thank the heavens my mum is relaxed about my style, but anyway let us get on with this post sister Thilde (I'm in a bit of a random mood.)

Quirky Colours

I know, I know,  I'm so terrible I haven't posted for days but I suppose I should just get on with this post anyway. The other day I was feeling colourful, and a bit bored, so i took some photos but I really couldn't be bothered to sort out a full outfit so this is just accessories . . .
sorry about the mess that is my hair blah
the big gold and black one on the bottom I nicked from my sister, (in my cutest voice) "thank you Georgi :)", and its from Primark and the top one is my mums (the chunky gold band)  from this woven basket with all her old jewellry from the eighties.
this pretty venetian mask is my sisters, which again I borrowed but she found out about this and shouted at me, this was a gift for her from my auntie joan on her travels.
with these brooches I couldn't pick one of them so I paired them together, the orange one with buttons is mine and i bought it from the blue coat, in liverpool, and the sparkly one at the back is my auntie Madge's.
this is a big piece of ribbon I found in my house.
a random piece of material that i scrunched up and put in my hair
I'm so sorry but I really wanted to put that bow from before on my head, it is cleverly balanced by a hair pin.
